Happy National Convention!!!

Hey guys, so this week is national convention week! So yesterday was a VERY long day spending almost 12 yours on the road! It was a long but fun day! We left on our charter bus at 8 yesterday and didn't get into our hotel till 10:20. We woke up and took a buss from our school to the pick up place for the charter bus and we were one of the first groups there so we got decent seats, this is my first time riding on a charter bus and I have to say I really liked it. It was really weird being so high up though. We watched 4 movies along the way, we watched one which i don't even remember which one it was cause I read a book during it, fast five, remember the Titans and the blind side, we stopped for lunch and roni and I ate pizza hut and then we ate supper at Ihop. But so far its been a very exciting trip I have made 2 new friends who are also sisters traveling together, today we are going to the Mammoth Caves, can't wait!!!!

Updates!!

Hey guys so some updates, so we went on a road ride last week, and it was grandpas 3rd ride with us and his first time out of the yard, he only had a problem with comming back he was a little barn sour... anyways I rode Jet for that ride, and he really is quite good at leg cues already, they just need some refinement, I didn't even have to use direct rein much at all, and no we wernt just walking along the side of the road, we zig-zaged at the trot and he did really good with that too.... then when we got back we went up and down the ditches a few times, and then went to do "arena" work in the yard, and I got Jet to pick up the canter a few times and boy is it smooth.... he has the fancy WP gaits and no wonder those people don't have any trouble riding those horses, I hope they have actually ridden real horses because a 3 year old could ride that and not fall off lol! His canter is so lovely :) anyways then we havn't ridden from that time, but I have gone out and worked with Chuck at liberty again :) He is doing so much better :) Heres some videos for you guys also riding videos to come this weekend :)

Go to 10:52 to see where he really starts paying attention and we "Join Up" later in the video :)
Also below is my new channel trailer! Hope you like it!!!

Horse Show Weekend

Hey guys, so this weekend was really fun! Saturday we had our lesson, it was the last one for the year, they are closing down again this winter because Libby (our instructor) is going to have another Baby. We went on a trail ride and just to clarify that their trail rides arn't just at a walk we trotted quite a bit too... and if we hadn't had a younger girl with us we would have cantered, its fun to canter on trails, we have done it a few times before and it was really fun. So then we went home and ate, then we went out to move our deer stands, the area where I shot mine had little deer activity I was actually pretty lucky to have shot one there lol so we moved ours back by the creek I also showed Roni where we had rode last winter where the big cliff was and I had her take a picture of me from the bottom, I will get the picture up later and compare, it looks bigger from the bottom. Anyways then we went home and we watched the new transformers movie, the movie ended at exactly midnight, we had popcorn and it was really yummy too!
The next morning I got up at 6 to start getting ready, I went out and caught Chuck and brought him up and got him all really clean and then got everything else packed up and Roni grabbed Jack so Chuck wouldn't be lonely... we drove and when we got there there were 3 other trailers there, then we unloaded and I went to registure and Roni groomed Chuck again, I came back and tacked him up after I registured my number was 138, I finished and then I took Chuck out to the arena to warm up and get him used to things, at first he was a little nervous, he tried to trot and didn't like to go near a portion of the fence, but he got used to it real quick, I was super proud, there was another girl there who's horse really wanted to go and they kept blowing by us at a quick canter a little closer than I would have liked, but Chuck was pretty cool about it, then more people came and I had w/t/c with chuck both ways so I just walked and let him Chill out, we were asked to exit the arena and we went into the holding area and waited, I was in the first class so I didn't wait long, the first one was Simon says, Chuck did really good! But I messed up, we didn't last long lol I was the first out, the anouncer said stop without saying simon says before and I was so focused on my riding and trying to ride well I didn't think about him having to say simon says and I stopped when he said, and I was out, although I was happy because Chuck stopped instantly and listined very well..... Next up was egg and spoon I did okay, I dropped when I had dropped my reins while backing and went to pick them back up and I knocked the egg off with my reins lol, I was NOT the first out of that though :) then went some of the actual gamming classes first up was the ride tire and lead and I did okay with that, I didn't place but I was happy, its easier to jump out of an english saddle than western so maybe I should work on that more, then next up was poles, and it was the one thing I placed in, but ironicaly the one thing I hadn't had any practice with along with not being able to practice keyhole, but we placed 5th in the junior division which had around 10+ riders so I was really happy with that :) I was especially happy with the fact that we did that good even though half way through I lost BOTH my stirrups lol there were girls who rubber banded their feet to the stirrups because they do the horrid "flying starfish" where they bring their legs way out to kick their horses and can't stay in the seat of the saddle even though they have such a deep seat..... then after that was barrels and then keyhole, barrels went well, we ran a clean pattern and were only 8 seconds slower than the winning time which was 18.6 something, we ran a 26. something time (it says it in the video) and I was happy with that being the first time we have ran outside of our yard and Brushy he really put his heart into it.... Keyhole he was either just being silly or was scared of the white chalk on the ground but he didn't want to go to it at first, but we broke pattern (stepped on the line) but he gave me his heart on the run back, he really tried hard and I think we would have had a pretty good time had we not broke pattern, overall it was an amazing day, we watched the last event (dizzy bat spin) and during the last few riders I went back and took Chucks saddle off, threw his halter and tied a lead rope around and just rode him back up to the arena bareback and when everyone was done I rode him around the arena once more then went back to the trailer and we packed up and left over all it was an AMAZING day and I had tons of fun!!!

Videos for you all!

Hey guys, so here are the videos I blogged about posting for you last night!!!
Top one is part 1 and next one is part 2 of the horses respond to an app on my phone that makes horse sounds :)
\
The above 3 are the horses responding to us shooting, I didn't put them in order but the ones where they freak out the most are first and the least is the last video I did then I shot a bit more and so did nick and they got to the point they wouldn't even look up from grazing

So the above 2 are Chance's second ride, he is doing pretty good considering he hadn't been ridden in at least 8 months, he knows what hes doing, he is a little pasture sour so were going to nip that in the butt right away and work with him on that, all of our rides will be right next to the pasture at first so he learns that that is not the place to go, its a place to work...... the first video is just a little walk and stuff and about 9 mins into the second video is trot and canter work.....

This is just a video of me testing how my go pro would work on my bow, and it does, im going to take it hunting with me next time I go, cause bow season started just about a week ago and I would like to go get another deer :)

This is a new music video for you all! Hope you guys like it I love this song!

Updates!!!

Hey guys sorry for not getting those videos up like I said! They wouldn't upload so I kept trying and finally got them to work today. So here are those right off the bat!

Above is the one where I fell off, below is horseback point of view the whole time, the above is horseback pov for the first like 5 minutes.....
The next one below is the roping video!
Okay so this week was homecoming week and we had dress up days, I was sick on Monday so I missed color day, then today it was Salad dressing day and we had ranch so we had to dress western and it was so funny to watch all the people dress up like cowgirls and cowboys and im just like wearing my normal every day clothes, the girls all had blinged out belts and hats and tucked their pants into their boots to show them off and im just laughing and shaking my head like "OMG you guys look crazy" LOL then Wednesday was America day and Thursday was Hippy day and then Friday was spirit day.... then we lost the game by 1 point I was kinda bummed, then I drove me and my friends back to one of their houses where we got ready for the dance, my friends date drove her and I will skip the part about my supidity of losing my keys in my bra story although it is a funny one :) We had tons of fun the only part I didn't really like was that some people felt the need to grind during the dance with is really disturbing, I don't like it at all, it really bugs me because it is just wrong expecially for people my age, you have problems if you feel the need to fulfill that "desire" at our age and nobody wants to see it especially not me or my friends its gross and rude.... other than that it was a fun dance I finally got to see my friend who moved away and get her phone number back cause I lost it when my phone crashed this summer, so it was awesome to see her again!  Also below is a pic of Pearl and her owner and her owners boyfriends homecoming picture!

Alexis Pearl and Thad :)

So then we had our show, heres some pictures of the show and videos down below!!!
Final flank turn in a younger routein

Emily leading the little kid group emily is closest on Ivan (black horse)

another pic of the little kids with the helpers walking along....

Banner before the show in the barn waiting....

Banner and I right before our routein started...

Above video is Ronis group which is our intermediate riding group and below is my group I was in one of the 2 Advanced groups, we both did the same routien group 1 was at the beginning and ours was the very last so we had to work with tired horses....
At about 3:40 in our video we go into the canter and I thought Banner was going to start doing his humping up thing again, but he did okay, he just got a little excited and went a little fast :)

Then yesterday we got Chance out and we rode him for the first time! He did awesome!!!! Chance didn't really know how to lunge very well when we got him, he kinda got it but wasn't very good at all and we have only worked with him 3 times the last time being about a month or so ago, so I was really happy when he remembered his ground work so well! If you teach it right then they remember, and he remembered me working with him, goes to show you can teach an old (very old apparently) horse new tricks! Then I hopped on and worked with him, he seems to remember but needs a few refresher sessions but he did good! Then I worked with him again today and he did good, he was being really barn sour so we made over by the fence work area and the normal riding area the resting area, he started to get it at the end so we quit on a good note we went through all his paces walk trot and canter, his walk is nice and smooth his trot is okay but his canter is very i don't know how to describe it, its more of a big up and down than a normal rocking motion, not hard to ride but pretty fun! I will upload the video from Monday, but todays video is still on my go pro camera and I don't feel like uploading everything.... more videos and fun stuff to come tomorrow!
Above is his lunging session and below is his first time with me riding him!

Updates!!!

Sorry guys its been forever! I have been very busy and I've been sick and tons of stuff going on!
So let me rewind back to last week, we rode, (can't remember what day it was this happend) anyways I decided to get the barrels back out and work on them, after our warm up the first 3-4 times through went well, we walked one and trotted one, and loped the other two, then we finally sped it up, he did good the first few times at "full speed" and then after that it started to go down hill, lol he started doing his "humping up" thing going into the second barrel, we pushed through it a few times, then we went past the first barrel, and going into the second, he decided to kick up, he kicked up twice and I got unseated and I fell, so most of you who know me, know I an good at falling, and having got better at riding, I can "fall" even better now lol I have got to the point where I know if im comming off or not and If I know im comming off I have time to prepare, so I reached and put my hand on his neck as I was in the air, and landed on my feet at a jog lol, he spun around to face me and I tried to flip the reins over his head but he decided to be a girrafe (i cant spell :P  ) and it took me about 4 times to flip the reins over, and I immediatly started lunging him.... then I got back on after a minute or two of lunging, then we worked through it again and he still humped up, but he never kicked up like that again, we eventually continued to work and he finally calmed down and realized doing that wasn't going to get him a rest, so we stopped working on that when he went through the pattern once nice :)

Then I got out the rope and started just riding Chuck around with leg cues.... swinging the rope all over.... he didn't appreciate it when I started tapping and rubbing the rope all over his face, but the only thing he did was speed up to a trot a few times then he calmed down.... then I started roping the barrels.... I missed more often than not, but I have been practicing and getting better :) now I just need a moving target and to teach Chuck to track!

Then he started not wanting to go towards the barrels, so we worked on getting him nice and close and he decided to have a bad day and pitch a fit, he did little mini rears when asked to go towards the barrel.... things have to get worse before they can get better right? well thats what he thought should happen, so after gaining some ground, we then had to lose some, he was standing nice and calm then I asked him to go forward, then he did his not so mini rear and then threw his head down and his but up, I have never been repealed that far onto a horses neck with the exception of when I was 7 and Lilly went Bronc style on me.... I was apparently skilled enough to grab his neck again, hook my foot around the saddle horn and hang sideways on my horse, I held on for about 5 seconds before I just let myself fall to the ground laughing my head off! Roni was asking if I was okay and all I could do for 5 minutes was laugh! It was my "weridest" "fall" ever, and it was actually kinda fun! I hopped back on, and he tried to pull that stunt a few more times but not near as bad, and we got it worked out with him tipping the barrel over then trying to paw-kick it with his front legs.....

some videos on these will be up tonight I tried to upload them last night but got busy and they take anywhere from 20 mins to 30 minutes to upload because they are quite long...

anyways saturday we had our lesson and all went okayish.... it rained like crazy and it had rained earlier in the week and the arena was bad, if you stepped in it a puddle was left in your foot print...

It was interesting because the girl who normaly rides Basil behind me tried riding Musta because she is tall so Basil makes her look really tall.... but she couldn't keep Musta out of mine and Banners butt, and Musta really hates following other horses, so he kept biting banner while I was riding! Banner got fed up and tried kicking at him.... then they changed back to Basil so it all went well......

So the one thing that I am SO SO SO SO SO SO proud of is that Chuck and I are finally working at Liberty!!!! Ill tell you guys more about that in another post!!!

Lesson Video

Hey guys so this weekend we had a lesson, we're preparing for the show on Sunday..... Banner worked wonderfully! This is our group minus Vironica, she will be in a follow along group instead of a mirror image/ serpentine group like ours because she isn't comfortable enough and pete is a little slow.... Anyways here you guys go!

Start at 4:40 if you want to see it from the beginning, we did it twice and the first part is the last part of the first time we went through it.....
Down here below is just me experimenting with different camera angles......
