Then this past week was National Convention!!! I had a BLAST! It was so crazy fun! I can't believe how many people were there 64,000!!!!! It was so cool! I had such a fun time! there is so much stuff to go over.... so the bus ride took awhile, like 12 hours! But it was fun we watched movies, then we checked into the hotel, I said hi to Erica and turns out shes breeding Clover, don't know who shes breeding her to, but Clover has good lines, here sire is actually a world famous connemara pony, the first ever to be made into a breyer model! Anyways it was fun to catch up, the next day we went to the mammoth cave, which is actually the longest cave in the world, it has been mapped over 400 miles and is still increasing, we went on a tour of the cave, we went on the historic tour, which included a 2 mile hike and 18 flights of stairs on our way up out of the cave..... it wasn't to bad, the size of the cave is crazy!!! We also got to experience complete darkness, about 1/4 a mile into the cave, our guide had us all get close, and he lit a lighter and had our other guide turn off the lights, it was amazing how much you really could see in complete darkness, something cool is the first tours were led by slaves, way back when slaves were not respected, so if the white people would protest they could very easily just blow the candle out and make them listen to them. Complete darkness is really kind of confusing, you think you see stuff, but its just your mind playing tricks on you, no matter how long you would stay down there your eyes can't adjust, he told us to hold our hands in front of our faces, and our minds played tricks and made us think we saw a shadow, but when he told us to close our eyes the image was EXACTLY the same as when you had your eyes open! It was all really cool and fun, then that night we went to opening session with our keynote speaker being Nick Vujicic who was born with no arms and no legs.... I will being a different post on that because it was on of the highlights of our trip...
The next day we went to Louisville Slugger we got to see how proffesional baseball bats were made and it was a very cool experience, it would probably be more enjoyed by someone who actually watches baseball. We went to the convention for the rest of the day we went through the job fair and I got quite a bit of stuff (ill make a video later) and it was quite fun, then we met up for the talent show, and boy there are some amazing people who performed! After that we changed seats for the 3rd session, we listened to keynote speaker Tyson Foods CEO who inspired us to take back the story #myAGstory was #1 trending on twitter that day all thanks to the people of FFA it was an amazing way to get the word across! We went back to our hotel later that night and then the next day was (saddly) our last day in Louisville (also why do you natives to Kentucky say "lolvol" you and your weird Kentucky accents!!) we went to the job fair and the FFA Shop which is the largest physical FFA store there has ever been! It was really cool to see all the stuff! Then after that we headed out for Churchill Downs, it was amazing to see how big it was, they just added a big tv screen a while back for the people in the infield, the screen is bigger than 3 NBA courts combined! Thats a lot of space!! Another interesting piece of information, during the Derby the infield of Churchill Downs becomes the biggest "city" in Kentucky!!! Crazy right?!?!? We saw one of the previous Derby competitors Twinspired, and his adorable stable mate, Winston! He ran in the Derby in 2011 and is taking a break from his breeding (deffinatly not a bad thing) Then we headed home on the bus, it again was a long drive, and then on the Sunday after we had gotten home I started to feel crappy and ran a temp, for 3 days and still had one again today, I really hate being sick to my stomach its no fun, but I needed to get back to school, so I went today, but I still had a headache, but life is life ya gota live a little!!! Thanks guys heres some more videos for you all and I will get pics from convention up here in the next few weeks, because I have to get them off the camera because dummy me forgot my phone in my truck! I do pretty good about stuff like that though so it wasn't to bad!
