Mini update

Hey guys so it rained all day today so no riding but maybe tomorrow after school registration... anyways I went shopping with my grandma today we had a lot of fun mostly bought clothes and we did stop at western edge I got a sweatshirt a twisted tack jacket (love their breast collars and head stalls but can't afford them :'(  ) a shirt that says keep calm and ride on, and I limited myself to only one tack item which was a lovely shaped English saddle pad.... It was really funny I was showing my grandma my curry comb that on the other side has magnetic massage ball/roller things and she's like that probably feels good and I'm like ya and I rubbed it on her back and I went to put it back and she's like "no don't put it back I want it!" Gotta love my grandma :) it was really nice to spend some alone time with just her (sorry Roni lol) and have fun, we ate at Fazolies which is one of our FAVORITE places to eat then headed home it was a wonderful day...... :)

Today

Hey guys so today we went to train with Copper, his owners took him to Brushy so they could work with him, we did ground work and then I got on him, he was doing good at the walk, so I moved on to trot and he was doing good, but not as responsive as I would have liked so we stuck to the trot, he was doing good by the time I got off so Randi could get on, he walked and trotted, and Randi canterd him a bit and he did good but had basically no steering, that's where I had my problem, steering wasn't very good at the trot and it would be very little to non exsistant at the canter, he took him around the barrels a few times. Randis end goal for copper is to be a nice pleasure and pleasure as in riding for fun and a gaming horse and his parents want him to be able to ride copper around without having to worry a whole lot about him, and I'm sure I can do that for them :) then we went back to their camp and untacked and groomed and Randi went to get him some water and food, and I had fun braiding coppers mane and then we all just hung out and talked for a bit....
Ps there were 3 Frishans there and a Gypse Varrner cross and I wanted to just wall over and pet them lol below is a pic of one of them...

Short update!

I reached one of my other horse training goals today which is to lay a horse down... I did it with Jet and it took less than 20 minutes and we also got a huge jump start on bow but his lay down needs work lol it was very ungracefull lol will post vids and stuff later but here is a pic of bow and one of him after I laid him down....

Horse judging

Hey guys horse judging went well today, I was very disappointed with how the horses and facility was managed, one of the things that really grossed me out was that even though I wasn't close to their big round bales out in their pasture I could see they were black and moldy, good way to get your horses sick.... I think for the most part the horses did okay, there were a few issues, a horse accidently stepped on one of the handlers in a halter class and she handled it very nicely, from the looks of it, it was an accident, the horses in general seemed spooky and nervous some of the handlers were around our age, so maybe that had something to do with it, two of the horses obviously didn't like the bits they were ridden in, one was a tomb thumb (basically one of the worst and most harsh common bits out there that people think are okay, but infact are VERY harsh and bad for the horses mouth) the other was a very thin sharp twisted wire snaffle, if it had had a.thicker mouth piece with more rounded edges but that thing was sharp!! Anyways idk how I did individual, but our team got a silver ranking, I got to hang out with Erica a bit today and again tomorrow at colt, can't wait for it, I also have a little update story on that mare that wouldnt load but that's for a different post, maybe post a video or pics soon, a room tour is also comming up in a week or two....

First half!!!

Hey guys so far this has been an AMAZING day!!! We started off with an almost 2 hr lecture and I LOVED it!!! There was so much information on horses and horse behaviors, I now have two full pages of notes and still more to come!! Then Clinton worked with a local horse named Niblit who is a 10 year old mare who had issues with being caught and was head shy pulled when tied and overall just very disrespectful horse. Clinton worked with her for awhile and by the time they were done she was doing really well!! After that and throughout the tour Clinton has been giving out prizes he has given out quite a few so far, this weekend they will give out $9000.00 worth of prizes I hope we win something!! Can't wait!!! Also ps Niblit was wearing all green tack!!! Clinton comes back out in a few so update later!!!
