Updates

Hey guys so got updates for you no videos to post this post cause I'm on my phone but if you want a sneak peak go check out YouTube! Okay so Anyways....  busy week this week Monday we had chores and stuff to do and I got this crazy idea in the works..... Tuesday Roni and I decided to ride and we worked on barrels Chuck did AMAZING! He ran his heart out! I put on my spurs to see how he would react with them while on barrels I normally don't need them but apparently that's what he needed to kick into high gear and I don't even need to really touch him with them as long as he knows they are there.... we worked on barrels and a Keyhole type pattern or a down and back ad I call it. ... In between our turns Roni and Jack went and Roni didn't want to canter him do they just trotted, I started to cool Chuck out and I told Roni I would canter Jack quick for her.... anyways at first he was a little dingy but then he settled down and apparently I needed some action according to him, he bolted and then slammed to a stop with his head down, there wasn't even a chance to catch myself I didn't even touch him on the way down I went completely over his head and neck and flipped over and landed I'm our gravel/crushed asphalt driveway flat on my back! And I being to stubborn to let him "insult" me more kept ahold of the reins considering his track record of taking off cause he knows that bolting equals punishment of having to run and work. .. He drug me backwards a few feet I really am lucky I was wearing 2 shirts or I probably would have been in worse shape... I got to my feet and that horse knows how to run! Backwards that is... I backed him, while running..... and then I told Roni to lunge him and I would put a better saddle on and ride him again after I put Chuck up.... I got up to Chuck and my adrenaline was wearing off and I started to get a feel of what type of shape I was in... All but 2 fingers on my right hand had swollen up and bruised. .. and my back was killing me I went upstairs and asked my mom what she thought,  we thought my thumb might have been broken but when nick came home and looked at it he just said to wait it out and it turned out to just swell up big and bruise.... then the big bruises on my back didn't even show up until today (Thursday) 2 days later and they are still getting worse... I have a little bump in my back underneath the one but doing yoga today in PE seemed seemed to help stretch it out. .. so Wednesday I came home and gave chuck a bath cause I had played around with paint on the horses and he needed to be to be clean for the crazy idea I had and it was the next warmest day this week so it was the best day to do it and it took forever yo get the paint our of his tail! I had to shampoo the thing 4 times before I got it and all out!! Then it was getting cold as I was drying him off and he started to shiver, his legs and belly were still wet so I brought him up to the house and used a shammy rag to get what I could off cause they are really absorbant and and then I plugged in an extension cord and used used the hair dryer on him and then u gave him a treat of of a little grain and an apple.... so so the big surprise surprise or crazy idea is that we're going to a fun show this Sunday!!!!!! I'm super excited it's not fancy stuff like WP or anything like that but just a relaxing fun show! I can't wait! So excited it's going to be fun to see what we can do! So So that's it for now more videos In a post that will be up tomorrow!!!!
.

Got it!!

Hey guys so no riding this weekend.... Saturday morning nick and I went out to the pasture because I needed some practice with my gun cause I haven't used it in almost 2 years cause nick has been gone for shot gun season each time, so we made a lovely target out of a board and some spray paint.... we put it out in the pasture and started shooting, the horses didn't freak they would stick their heads up and trot a little ways but they never actually freaked out and by the time I had shot all 20 shots they didn't even look up from grazing other than lucky..... and you guys want to guess my luck? Very first night out this season (youth season which ended today Sunday) saw 2 does and finally shot one out of all my youth seasons hunting I have got a shot at a deer 4 times for youth season and I passed one up... it was less than 20-30 yards away and I passed it up cause the doe still had a fawn with her.... but that's okay heck by now it would be old enough that I may have shot that same fawn! Anyways then we spent about 3 hours today skinning and processing it... Nick said for my first time I did really good and he was most proud of me because 1 I actually wanted to help like a lot, most girls I know would be big sissies and not want to even touch a dead deer but here I am lol flopping meat around and playing with blood clots because they feel like jello lol it is actually really cool to go through the different parts of the deer, although nick did give me the easier stuff that was almost impossible to mess up lol the front legs, we put the meet in the freezer until Bud (coppers owners dad) gets his locker started up again which should be somewhat soon considering it's starting to get closer to shot gun season,  we're going to have deer jerky, and sausage and other various things nick is going to fix up the heart and tender loins and eat them the way he and everyone else likes them lol, the only downside is I accidentally cut myself with the knife while cutting fat and blue skin off ( blue skin is a term used for the little layer of a skin like connective tissue) and by golly you would swear I had cut half my finger off the way it bleed, it wasn't a bad cut but it wouldn't stop bleeding it's on the top knuckle of the ring finger on my left hand,  I accidentally bumped it and it started bleeding again the darn thing! Anyways it was a really fun weekend I did get to spend some time with the horses but what fun is it for them if I just ride them every time I see them, I went out there to just feed them and apple and they all just followed me around like puppy dogs they didn't have to be with me a 7 acre pasture to run and play in and they prefer to be with me... I just stood there and they all came up and put their heads down for me to scratch Jack decided my pony tail would be a good thing to wiggle around with his lips Lucky walks up and puts his butt to me for scratches and Chuck and Jet are both greedily sniffing for more treats in my pockets oh the love that they have have for me and food, but mostly food lol so
that's my weekend that I am awake enough to write about right now more update of this weekend along with videos to come later!!

Birthday

Hey guys so if you didn't know today was my 17th birthday! I just wanted to share with you some of the things my AMAZING family got me. So I will start off with the smaller things and save the best for last... so first off I got a really pretty necklace it has a leaf kind of pendant and it's simple but elegant, after that is a wubble bubble which is like a big inflatable ball it's pretty darn fun to play with.... then I got a really cool chair it's like a bungee cord/trampoline chair it's really comfortable and fun.. after that is the one goofy but pretty awesome present I got a chicken! A chicken showed up and my mom's work and it didn't belong to anyone so I get to keep her! Her name is Wieser  (also the nickname of my best friend) she's very friendly and calm I have wanted chickens for awhile now so that is an awesome suprise. Next up wasn't really a birthday present it was kind of one to myself and it works out that I can share it in this post and it involves my last present, so my mom and Nick were "looking at a saddle for nick" when they got there the saddle was apparently not what the guy said it was, but he had another saddle for sale... now I have been casually looking for a new saddle and my mom sent me pics of it and it is practically brand new with one little scratch on the seat... so me being me said sure and bought it.... I have ridden in it 2 times now each for about 2 hours and it's pretty darn comfy if I do say so..... so now onto the final gift... this was from a combination of my parents and I really want to thank them a lot because it is a very nice and very big gift for someone my age and I couldn't be more thankfull.... so the whole story my mom told me about going to look at a saddle for nick was a huge lie they just happend to find the saddle I bought by accident... they were really there to find something else look at the pictures to find out what it was! I will do a video on it as soon as I can si you guys can see it all!

Mini update

Hey guys so it rained all day today so no riding but maybe tomorrow after school registration... anyways I went shopping with my grandma today we had a lot of fun mostly bought clothes and we did stop at western edge I got a sweatshirt a twisted tack jacket (love their breast collars and head stalls but can't afford them :'(  ) a shirt that says keep calm and ride on, and I limited myself to only one tack item which was a lovely shaped English saddle pad.... It was really funny I was showing my grandma my curry comb that on the other side has magnetic massage ball/roller things and she's like that probably feels good and I'm like ya and I rubbed it on her back and I went to put it back and she's like "no don't put it back I want it!" Gotta love my grandma :) it was really nice to spend some alone time with just her (sorry Roni lol) and have fun, we ate at Fazolies which is one of our FAVORITE places to eat then headed home it was a wonderful day...... :)

Today

Hey guys so today we went to train with Copper, his owners took him to Brushy so they could work with him, we did ground work and then I got on him, he was doing good at the walk, so I moved on to trot and he was doing good, but not as responsive as I would have liked so we stuck to the trot, he was doing good by the time I got off so Randi could get on, he walked and trotted, and Randi canterd him a bit and he did good but had basically no steering, that's where I had my problem, steering wasn't very good at the trot and it would be very little to non exsistant at the canter, he took him around the barrels a few times. Randis end goal for copper is to be a nice pleasure and pleasure as in riding for fun and a gaming horse and his parents want him to be able to ride copper around without having to worry a whole lot about him, and I'm sure I can do that for them :) then we went back to their camp and untacked and groomed and Randi went to get him some water and food, and I had fun braiding coppers mane and then we all just hung out and talked for a bit....
Ps there were 3 Frishans there and a Gypse Varrner cross and I wanted to just wall over and pet them lol below is a pic of one of them...

Short update!

I reached one of my other horse training goals today which is to lay a horse down... I did it with Jet and it took less than 20 minutes and we also got a huge jump start on bow but his lay down needs work lol it was very ungracefull lol will post vids and stuff later but here is a pic of bow and one of him after I laid him down....

Horse judging

Hey guys horse judging went well today, I was very disappointed with how the horses and facility was managed, one of the things that really grossed me out was that even though I wasn't close to their big round bales out in their pasture I could see they were black and moldy, good way to get your horses sick.... I think for the most part the horses did okay, there were a few issues, a horse accidently stepped on one of the handlers in a halter class and she handled it very nicely, from the looks of it, it was an accident, the horses in general seemed spooky and nervous some of the handlers were around our age, so maybe that had something to do with it, two of the horses obviously didn't like the bits they were ridden in, one was a tomb thumb (basically one of the worst and most harsh common bits out there that people think are okay, but infact are VERY harsh and bad for the horses mouth) the other was a very thin sharp twisted wire snaffle, if it had had a.thicker mouth piece with more rounded edges but that thing was sharp!! Anyways idk how I did individual, but our team got a silver ranking, I got to hang out with Erica a bit today and again tomorrow at colt, can't wait for it, I also have a little update story on that mare that wouldnt load but that's for a different post, maybe post a video or pics soon, a room tour is also comming up in a week or two....
